{Beauty Panel} How to Transition Your Hair from Day to Night

The Beauty Panel on FashionMagazine.com was asked,

“How do you transition your make-up and/or hair from day to night?”

For this Beauty Panel challenge, I just wanted to focus on hair. For my daytime look, I show you my go-to  favourite hairstyle … the rope braid. This is a beautiful ‘do with minimal effort involved. It literally takes less than two minutes to do, but it looks like you spent waaaay longer. This style allows you to stay in bed longer in the morning and spend less time trying to get ready — and no one would ever know!

If you have hair like mine, you can’t tie your hair during the day and then leave your hair down at night. My hair is just too thick & coarse and trying to flat iron the dent from the hair tie is just impossible for me! So…for my night look, I tend to wear my hair up as well. In this video, I show you how to create the popular & trendy top knot bun. Again, another gorgeous hair ‘do that is quick and simple to do.

Products used:
L’Oreal Elnett Satin – Lumiere Ultra Strong Hold

Artisan Bracelets for a Cause

Thank you everyone for your support.

As mentioned in my previous post, ‘Moment of Inspiration … Passion to Follow Through’, I mentioned that …

For every bracelet I sell, $1 will go towards the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure.

Every year for the last 7 years (minus last year due to a beautiful out-of-town wedding I attended), my fiancé and I have been participating in the CIBC Run for the Cure. To read my experience click here: Tess’ Run for the Cure Profile

To see how my experience inspired me to follow my passion, click on my make-up portfolio bio here: About Tess

Like everything else I enjoy doing (ahem, make-up artistry lol), I take great passion and love when creating each bracelet.

 Update:

Thank you everyone for all your support!

We have sold out of all our styles and I’m happy to say, we made our CIBC Run donation goal!

This has been more successful than I could have ever imagined! We will keep you posted if we will continue to create bracelets after the CIBC Run for the Cure.
You guys are awesome & I hope you enjoy your bracelets! Thanks again!

xoxo Tess

*PLEASE NOTE: The CIBC Run for the Cure website doesn’t accept online donations of less than $5. Therefore, I wait until the donations reach the minimum amount to donate your share (if it’s less than $5) and put your name on my donation page to show your support. Donation receipts are not given.
To Purchase:

1. Select the quantity in the drop down menu below (PayPal).
2. Type in the style number(s) or name(s) you would like to order and the colour.
3. Click the ‘Buy Now’ button below.

**I am using my fiancé’s PayPal account, therefore you will see his name (Raymond) when you purchase.

4. After your order goes through, please e-mail me at info@tessmakeup.com and include the following:

  • Full Name
  • Mailing Address (Canadian residents only)
  • Wrist measurement (in inches). Please indicate if the measurement you provide is the exact wrist size or if it is the size of bracelet you want so I can create the bracelet accordingly. If you prefer your bracelet to be adjustable, please let me know and I’ll make one with an adjustable slip knot.
  • The name you would like to appear on my CIBC Run for the Cure donation page (Optional – we can make it private)

Please note, that I will create the bracelets to suit your wrist size. Therefore if your wrist is smaller, you may have less beads/embellishment than the photos above. This will keep the uniqueness and ‘one-of-a-kind’ feel to each bracelet. Also, alternate materials may be used if the material in the photos above become unavailable. I will notify you.

Thank you for your continued support.
Feel free to share, comment, or tweet. 🙂

Thanks for inviting my bracelets to your ARM CANDY PARTY!!

Feel free to email me, if you would like to add your photo.  I would LOVE to post them!

Moment of Inspiration … Passion to Follow Through

On the night before my birthday, I had trouble sleeping. The fiance thought it was due to the excitement of turning another year older  (Ummmmm? lol), but it was actually because I had a
moment of inspiration

I envisioned making one-of-a-kind, handcrafted bracelets!

I decided to make my inspiration a reality. This marked the beginning of my new-found passion and my contribution to what people call an ‘arm candy party’.

Since that time, many of you have been inquiring about the artisan handcrafted bracelets I have posted on Twitter and Instagram.

Due to the amount of interest I have received, I have decided to combine my passion for handcrafting bracelets with a cause that is near and dear to my heart.

For every bracelet I sell, $1 will go towards the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure.

To check out the styles I have made so far, you can check them out here: Artisan Bracelets for a Cause
{I will update the link above with new styles as I craft them}

xoxo Thank you for your interest and support.
